The Train Ride That Started It All
It was a perfectly ordinary Tuesday. Karlos was on the train from Helsinki to Tampere for work when he stopped into a shop looking for a phone case. Just wanted something simple — something that looked good and protected the thing he used most every day.
He found the phone accessories section, scanned the options, and that's where the story really begins.
A plain silicone case for €20. A "minimalistic" case for €35. Nothing in between, nothing that felt worth it — just overpriced and underwhelming. He just wanted something stylish that didn't cost a fortune. That shouldn't have been so hard to find.
He walked out empty-handed and called Elizabeth.
They'd both felt it before — that quiet frustration of looking for something small, something everyday, and finding that your only choices were boring or overpriced. Your phone is probably the one thing you pick up and put down more than anything else in your life. It deserved better than that.
So they decided to do it themselves.
That conversation became Atelier Bernadette — a brand built on the belief that the small things you carry with you every day deserve just as much thought as anything else. Pieces that are considered, beautiful, and actually feel like you.
Founded by Elizabeth & Karlos Bernadette, it started with one unsatisfying shop visit and a simple question: why shouldn't the things we use the most be something we actually love?
